I get jealous when my friends who are employed have fancy business cards, so I tried to envision what my business card could say right now. I like the idea of having a purpose and an identity even when you don’t have an employer to back up those goals with money. Obviously I am aiming for employment, but I think the idea that I can do important work even without being compensated is a good one. After all, my main career goal is CHANGE THE WORLD and I doubt anyone will ever be writing me hefty checks to get that shit accomplished. So here is a work-in-progress business card I made for myself in under 2 minutes in Photoshop. I might keep working on this idea as a mini-project, changing and shifting the image as I see fit…or I may never touch it again. Who knows! These are the joys of being unemployed.
